Job Responsibilities

Financial Management:

  • Oversee the financial activities of the Supply Chain business, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the Supply Chain business, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with internal and external regulations.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Ensure the preparation of monthly financial reports, including detailed variance analysis comparing actual performance against the budget and prior periods.
  • Perform ratio analysis for key financial metrics (e.g., liquidity, profitability, and efficiency ratios) and raise flags if any ratios do not meet the pre-established benchmarks for the business.
  • Prepare a comprehensive quarterly financial performance analysis report for senior management, highlighting trends, variances, and financial health.
  • Conduct regular reviews of financial data, ensuring it is accurate and reflective of the business's operations.
  • Support senior management with data-driven insights to help with decision-making, including cost optimization and revenue enhancement.

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management:

  • Oversee cash flow management for the Supply Chain business, ensuring liquidity for day-to-day operations.
  • Manage cash purchase and sales processes, ensuring proper accounting treatment and cash flow planning.
  • Monitor cash levels and manage short-term investments to optimize liquidity.
  • Develop strategies for effective cash management and improve cash cycle efficiency.
  • Implement and oversee cash flow forecasting to ensure appropriate liquidity at all times.

Receivables and Payables Management:

  • Ageing of Receivables: Monitor the ageing of receivables, ensuring timely collections and minimizing overdue balances. Develop and implement strategies to reduce overdue receivables and improve cash inflows.
  • Ageing of Payables: Oversee the ageing of payables, ensuring timely payments while optimizing cash flow. Develop effective payment terms and strategies to manage supplier relationships and maintain a good credit standing.
  • Regularly review and analyze outstanding receivables and payables reports, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and on time.

Inventory Management (Financial Oversight):

  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation in financial statements, following the appropriate accounting principles (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, or weighted average).
  • Oversee inventory reporting, working closely with operations and supply chain teams to ensure proper recording of inventory transactions.
  • Collaborate with the operations team to monitor inventory turnover and its impact on the business’s financials.
  • Assist in the identification of obsolete or slow-moving inventory, ensuring these are recognized and written off appropriately in financial statements.
  • Implement strong internal controls to safeguard inventory and ensure that financial data related to inventory is accurate and aligned with operational practices.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with local tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements for the Supply Chain business.
  • Coordinate with auditors to facilitate timely completion of annual audits and other regulatory filings.
  • Stay updated on changes in financial regulations and make recommendations to the business for compliance.

Team Management & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, ensuring high performance and productivity.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, training, and provide guidance to junior team members.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational efficiency within the Finance & Accounts team.

Strategic Financial Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align financial strategies with business goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and operational efficiencies within the Supply Chain business.
  • Evaluate financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate financial exposure.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, ensuring clarity and accuracy in financial communications.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Operations, Procurement, and Sales) to ensure financial strategies are aligned with business objectives.

Requirements

Education: Masters/MBA - Accounting from a reputed University, CA -PL or ACCA -Part 2 completed.

Experience: Applicants must have at least 10 years of proven experience in the relevant field.

Technical skills: Experience in accounting software like Tally and ERP, having advanced Excel skills- Pivot Table, Vlookup, Xlookup, Index Match, If Error and Macros.

Other attributes: Ability to explain financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Excellent command of both written and spoken English.
