Livestock Officer

Job Overview: The candidate will work to improve the livestock management in our country. The candidate will develop contents related to cattle farm management, cattle rearing methods, and disease management. The candidate will also work with cattle farms, iFarmer internal teams, and external parties for research and development, and innovative projects aimed at ensuring food security. He or she will also liaison with universities and industry experts to gather and disseminate knowledge.

Major responsibilities:

• Knowledge Management: Lead in knowledge management and content development for providing training, supporting the farmers and trainers, and other sector players. Prepare content that will help in early disease prediction. Work with other teams to deliver the content and share support materials to relevant parties like farmers, veterinaries etc.

• Work on Innovative Projects: Lead in proof of concept for innovative projects that will require research and development and farm management, estrus detection, health anomaly and support the data scientist and machine learning engineers.

• Livestock Quality Management: Lead in livestock quality measures, control, educate and standard setting for livestock. Manage Contract Farming projects to ensure proper standard maintenance.

• Product Development Support: Support in developing any other business related to livestock, field force engagement, government officials’ liaison, R&D partnership with thinktanks and universities.
